I took Joella’s first birthday pictures at Rose Hill Manor this week. She is definitely one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. In case you were wondering, yes. Her eyes really are that blue. I didn’t touch her eyes at all in post production, Joella is just gorgeous.
She decided after a while that the porch was her very favorite place to be. She would go sit on the step, stand up, sit down, get up, then walk around a little bit. I had so much fun just watching her explore and following wherever she went. When it comes to photographing babies and toddlers, you kind of just work with whatever they’re willing to give you. I can’t really pose toddlers because they definitely have their own ideas about what they want to be doing, and I just kind of have to roll with that.
Joella loved walking around with her mom, exploring all around the grounds, and she especially loved the actual manor house. We tried taking her to different locations, but she always came back to the front door. Isn’t that adorable?
It took Joella a little bit of time to warm up to me and get used to a camera being pointed at her, but once she did, she was a total ham. She has the cutest personality. She was babbling, laughing, and playing peek-a-boo with Sasha and I’m glad I was able to capture some of those moments.
